Jazz on the Half Shell

I went to the Twenty/20 Grill in the Sheraton in Carlsbad on December 1st.  We stayed and watched these Jazz musicians play for a couple hours.  The main musician was Sue Palmer who mainly played the trombone but also played another instrument which I wasn’t familiar with it was a silver hand held box which she played with a stick like a drum stick.   The music was really great and fun.  It opened me up more to Jazz music. I liked how it was flexible enough in its style to be enjoyable in a bar scene but I felt that it would have also been great as a show.  It worked really well in the bar atmosphere, it added to the vibe.   These musicians were really great and it was a lot of fun getting to listen to them.
